Our mission is to promote improved quality of life for people and animals by providing barrier free pet adoption services to low-income and isolated populations.

Our vision is to contribute to the health of our community two-fold by linking people and sheltered animals through outreach, thus reducing the effects of emotional and physical distress for both.

Brandi was born on Feb. 17, 1970 in Moscow, Idaho to Thomas and Carolyn Fairchild and spent her childhood in Idaho. Brandi was a little girl who was curious, animated, with a ready smile and sweet spirit. She loved school and was a serious life-long learner. Brandi attended the University of Idaho and completed her degree at the University of Southern Maine. She received a Bachelor of Social Work in 2006 and went on to practice social work with elderly in New York City and Seattle.

Brandi was a traveler and spent a great deal of her life exploring other countries including New Zealand, Russia, Czech Republic, Eastern Europe, Thailand, Ireland, Mexico, Antigua, and Nicaragua. She also went on three tours to Antarctica at McMurdo Station - both in summer and wintering over. She had the heart of an explorer and many of her loved ones shared in her travel experiences.

Brandi enjoyed basketball, was an incredible scrabble player, a beautiful writer, and a humanitarian. She cared deeply for those in need and had a passion for helping animals. In 2008, Brandi created Sage Connections, a non-profit organization, in honor of her beloved feline companion Sage. She was a giver, a helper, a doer in life. Every Thanksgiving, Brandi made food baskets and delivered them to the homeless throughout Seattle.

Brandi touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by her loving family and her many precious friends in Seattle and throughout the country. A memorial service will be held on Sunday Dec 28th from 2:00 – 5:00 at the Graham Visitor Center in the Seattle Arboretum (2300 Arboretum Drive E Seattle, WA 98112).

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to your local food bank or animal shelter or Whisker City (Brandi's favorite cat shelter) PO Box 77214, Seattle, Washington 98177 (attention Melissa).

SageConnections is in loving memory of Sage, my feline companion for 17 years who passed away in 2006. His constant presence in my life awakened me to the phenomena of the human-animal bond. His antics and eccentricities brought joy and laughter. SageConnections believes companionship is crucial to the quality of one’s life and exists to support this connection by providing education and opportunity.
